George B. Adams

George Adams is a retired corporate and international partner of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, where he was chairman of the corporate department and head of its London office. He currently serves as a trustee of the American Association for the International Commission of Jurists and the American Trust for the British Library and as an honorary trustee of Sarah Lawrence College. He is also a member of the Board of Visitors of the CUNY Law School; a director of the New Amsterdam Singers and a member of Gray Matters which offers pro bono counseling to not-for-profit social welfare organizations in New York City. Mr. Adams was, for many years, a director of United Way of New York City and was the President of the Greater New York Fund (the distributing arm of United Way) and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Sarah Lawrence College; Chair of Yale Alumni Publications, Inc.; a member of the Yale University Council and a director of the Lawyers Alliance for World Security. He also acts as an arbiter of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission and is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, the Royal Society for the Arts and The Pierpont Morgan Library. He is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School and served as a First Lieutenant, Artillery, during the Korean War.
